from Nigeria to Global health leadership:
Completing a master's degree in Global health at Karolinska institute was an experience that went far beyond my expectations. The program provided a rich, multidisciplinary learning environment that combined rigorous academic training with practical insights into global health challenges. I had the opportunity to learn from world-class researchers, engage with diverse international students, and develop a deeper understanding of infectious diseases, health systems, and global health policy. The exposure to innovative research methods and evidence -based public health strategies broadened my commitment to improving health outcomes, particularly in low and middle-income countries like Nigeria. The collaborative learning culture and emphasis on critical thinking helped me grow both academically and professionally. However, the program could be further improved by increasing opportunities for field-based learning in low-resource settings and expanding partnerships that allow students to engage more directly with communities facing global health challenges. Overall, studying at Karolinska institute was transformative and has equipped me with knowledge , global perspective, and leadership skills needed to contribute meaningfully to global health advancement.
