History
The University of Bedfordshire was established in August 2006 by order of the Privy Council, following the merger between the University of Luton and De Montfort University's Bedford campus.

Our 11 Research Institutes impact UK and European agendas across health, energy and technology, and social policy.
We won the Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2013 in recognition of our pioneering research. This is the highest form of national recognition for universities in the UK.
Our research subjects range from organ donation to cyberstalking to smart city development to Parkinson's disease and much more.
Career
92% of Bedfordshire students who graduated last year have found jobs or are in further study – the highest figure achieved by the University.(Destination of Leavers of Higher Education (DLHE)2013 survey).
DLHE 2013 also shows the number of Bedfordshire students who left the University last year and are now in graduate level employment – professional and managerial roles – increased, by over 8% to 73.5%.

Campus life
Luton campus
- The Luton campus is the University of Bedfordshire's main campus. It is located right in the heart of Luton town centre.
- The Bedford campus is located in Polhill Avenue, Bedford.
- Putteridge Bury campus is the home of our postgraduate courses and conference centre, and is located on the outskirts of Luton.
- The Buckinghamshire campus is located in the town of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Nursing and midwifery students are taught here.
- Butterfield Park is located approximately four miles from the main Luton campus.
- UCMK is our newest campus based in the heart of Milton Keynes.
