We offer a range of highly competitive courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as PhDs and professional degrees.

• The Accident Research Unit uses research in cognitive psychology to understand driving behaviour and the causes of accidents.

• The Behavioural Neuroscience group investigates psychological and neural mechanisms underlying behaviour and psychiatric and neurological disease.

• The Cognition and Language group conducts basic and applied research into human cognition and language.

• The Computational Neuroscience group uses Neural Computation to describe the processes in the brain.

• The Human Development and Learning group uses a range of methods to approach the core question of how children develop and learn, and how atypical development differs.

A degree in Psychology can offer a wide range of career paths. Graduates from the School of Psychology have been very successful in obtaining professional Psychologist jobs. Many of these career routes, such as Clinical Psychology, require at least one years work experience before starting professional training. Unfortunately students gaining this experience are often counted in national statistics as working in ‘non-graduate’ roles.
