Education

Kent is a top UK and global University, known for its teaching excellence, and for the interdisciplinary nature of its programmes and research. We understand that postgraduate students need flexibility, so many of our taught and all of our research degrees offer September or January starts. Many of our courses will consider applicants either holding or projected 2:2 UK Bachelors degree or equivalent, we also offer distance-learning options and short courses.

The content of our programmes are designed to take advantage of the connections and resources we’ve built over the years, locally, nationally and globally. On some of our programmes, it’s possible to go on a work placement where you can test what you’ve learnt or you could gain experience living in another country by studying or undertaking research abroad.

Supportive environment

The Graduate and Researcher College helps to create a caring, stimulating intellectual and social environment, so that whether you’re returning to study after a break, studying part-time while continuing to advance your career, or a recent graduate, you can thrive and enjoy the challenge that postgraduate study provides. 

The dedicated Graduate and Researcher College ensures our students have access to the resources they need, including study hubs exclusively for postgrads, running a series of training programmes, workshops and events to help you further develop transferrable and specialist skills to support your research and employability.

Housing services

As a postgraduate student, finding the right place to live is an important part of your university experience. Whether you are looking for en-suite double rooms, part-catered packages or shared houses Kent has an option to suit you. New students applying by 30 June are also guaranteed a room offer for September 2022.

Library services

Your library wherever you are

At Kent you can access high-quality digital resources, such as e-book, e-journals, databases, newspapers, and multi-media – anytime, anywhere. The Templeman Library is at the heart of the Canterbury campus and provides study spaces, PCs, a large collection of books and journals and more. At Medway, Kent students can access the Drill Hall Library.

Medical services

The Canterbury campus has a NHS doctors surgery, pharmacy, and nursing service, whilst at Medway, we have partnered with a specialist local GP surgery. Mental health advice and support is also available from our experienced team of practitioners.

Kent is the only UK university to have a postgraduate centre in ‘the capital of Europe’, home to major international organisations such as the EU and NATO and offers postgraduate programmes taught by world-leading academics and experienced practitioners. 
  • Paris School of Arts and Culture
Spending either a full year or a term studying in the heart of this beautiful and historic city, teaching is enhanced by your immersion in a leading centre for European culture. The School offers advanced, flexible Master’s degrees across the arts, including in architecture, history of art, film, and creative writing.

Sports facilities

The University of Kent is committed to a ‘sport for all’ philosophy and encourage you to be more active, get fit and have fun whilst at Kent. Whether you’re a recreational user or a serious athlete, our dedicated sports development team and fully qualified health and fitness instructors are on hand to help. Generous sports scholarships are also available. 

Student clubs

Share your interests and make lifelong friends from around the world with a wide range of clubs and societies that cover all kinds of interests – cultural, performance, physical activity, politics and campaigning and special interest. 

There are also a number of academic societies which are free to join. There are over 50 sports clubs ranging from traditional sports to caving, sailing and windsurfing and even Quidditch!
