At Camberwell College of Arts, our unique studio culture offers students the freedom and support to explore their individual creativity using facilities that embrace both traditional craftsmanship and the latest digital technology.
Camberwell is one of London's smaller art colleges, with around 1,600 Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students on our Fine Art, Design and Conservation courses.
Our courses help students develop their own ideas, through making work and encouraging open dialogue with the College's expert staff and wealth of connections in the creative industries.
Camberwell's south east London location is also home to a thriving art scene that hosts a variety of galleries, project spaces and studios that our students, staff and graduates work and exhibit in.
Camberwell is a lively and unique area of south east London with good transport links to all parts of the city.
Camberwell has a strong reputation for the arts which the College and its neighbour, the South London Gallery, are at the heart of. In fact more artists live and work in the area than anywhere else in London.
You can find out more about the local art scene via the South London Art Map (SLAM), which provides a handy guide to the galleries in south London. SLAM also hosts a late night opening of all the galleries in south London on the last Friday of every month.
Within Camberwell itself and neighbouring Peckham, there are some great places to go out. Student favourites include The Hermits Cave, The Tiger and The Stormbird in Camberwell and Bar Story, Peckham Springs, Canavans and the Bussey Building in Peckham.
