Education
The Faculty today provides research and teaching excellence across engineering, science and mathematics in five academic Schools (Biological and Chemical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Engineering and Materials Science, and Mathematical Sciences), with diverse teaching programmes that include: Psychology, Mathematics with Finance and Accounting, Materials and Design, and Digital Audio and Music Systems Engineering.
Research
The Faculty has many areas with distinctive strengths and promotes multi-disciplinary research and collaborations between our Schools, with the School of Medicine and Dentistry and our academic and industrial research partners across the globe. The School of Physics and Astronomy recently launched its new Centre for Condensed Matter and the School for Electronic Engineering and Computer Science hosts the RCUK Doctoral Training Centre in Media and Arts Technology. Our overall research portfolio is underpinned by strengths in computational and simulation research.
