Vocal Performance students at the University of Miami work tirelessly to develop and maintain an efficient vocal technique and compelling artistry through study with a voice faculty whose members are established master teachers and performers.

Private voice lessons, vocal coaching, lyric diction, and language study are vital components of the degree programs, as are music theory, music history and literature, opera literature, art song repertoire, and vocal pedagogy.

Students gain essential stage skills and experience through participation in Frost Opera Theater, which complements and builds on their work in the voice studio.

Features

Our goal is to prepare you for the next step in your career as a professional singer and/or teacher. To that end, we have created a capstone project for our students where they meet with a professional arts marketing firm to design a personal strategy for marketing, branding, publicity, social media, and website design. As part of the project, students meet with a stylist to prepare for professional headshots.

Additionally, graduates will make an audio and video recording with our exceptional music engineering program to create professional recordings for their new portfolio.
