Overview

General requirements
- MEd or MA in Educational Studies or an equivalent combination of post-baccalaureate work, including experience as an educator in any setting and course work in Educational Studies, liberal arts, and/or the Historical, Philosophical, and Social Foundations of a particular profession, fine art, or science;
- GPA of 3.0;
- Recommendations from at least three individuals in relevant fields;
- A sample of 3 best written work in the humanities or fine arts, which displays an ability to think conceptually, analyze text or data, and present a logical argument or response to a foundational research question;
- A 500-1000 word statement of the applicant's purpose in pursuing the PhD in Foundations;
- An interview with the Educational Studies faculty. Interviews will be held by appointment, in late fall and late spring, when applicants are considered for admission.
