Overview
By combining classroom, research and project-based learning, graduates of the Mining Engineering program of Colorado School of Mines will be prepared to achieve their highest goals in a number of mining-related fields. Additionally, through our job fairs and other campus events, students come face-to-face with top industry recruiters eager to hire from the exceptional pool of Mines grads.
The Career Center is also available to support students and grads with a number of helpful services from resume creation and interview preparation to job searches and career path development.

- A minimum of 18 hours of course work must be completed at the Colorado School of Mines. A minimum of 9 credits beyond the Master's degree must be completed in the Mining Engineering Department. Exceptions may be approved by the PhD Dissertation Committee.
- Those with an MS in an appropriate field may transfer a maximum of 30 credits of course work towards the course work requirement, subject to the approval by the Advisor and doctoral committee.
- The doctoral dissertation thesis must be successfully defended before the doctoral committee.
