Faculty members in our PsyD program in Counseling Psychology from University of the Pacific prepare students for careers that serve a culturally diverse society by providing an educational and practical foundation in counseling, assessment, development, ethical practice, psychopharmacology, addiction, and research, among other advanced topics.

Programme Structure

Students in the program progress through their course sequence in a cohort and support each other in the classroom and in practice as they become self-reflective practitioners, researchers, and leaders.

Instruction is offered in a hybrid format such that instruction for clinical coursework is provided in-person while theoretical, lecture-based coursework is provided online, both synchronously and asynchronously.
In-person coursework is consolidated to one day per week to provide a student-friendly schedule.

Admission to the PsyD program is a holistic decision that takes into consideration all the factors of each applicant's background and experience. Specific requirements include:

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the last 60 units of college or post-baccalaureate work
A relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Evidence of qualities and character in keeping with the philosophy and standards of the University of the Pacific and the Benerd College.
