Overview
Clients are given the name of the supervisor overseeing their treatment at the initiation of clinic services.
The supervision in our clinic consists of live observation or digital recording of sessions and supervisors review recordings to ensure clients are receiving high quality care. The recordings are used only to provide feedback to the students; they are confidential, stored securely, and deleted at the end of treatment.
Sessions may be observed by supervisors or other doctoral students for training purposes. Consent for live observation and recording is required for initiation of services in our clinic. Clients who decline this arrangement can be provided with referrals to other providers.
In the training clinic, therapists work in year long placements from July to June. In June, clients who are being seen in the clinic will work with their therapist to decide whether they wish to end therapy, be transferred to a new doctoral student therapist, or be referred to another agency or therapist in the community.
Therapists and supervisors specialize in the delivery of evidence-based services. Services are available for a wide range of concerns including trauma, phobias, panic attacks, anxiety and social anxiety, depression, and eating disorders.
