Overview

In the Piano Pedagogy degree at the Catholic University of America, you will receive extensive training in piano, as well as supportive courses in music, to provide you with a broad music background. You will focus on teaching the mechanics of piano in the classroom.

A partnership has been established between the Levine School of Music and the Departments of Music.

Programme Structure

Curriculum:

Based on the results of the entrance examinations, the advisory committee, in conference with the student, will arrange a program of study of 55 to 72 hours beyond the master’s degree.

The courses and repertoire to be completed as part of the degree requirements will be communicated to the student in writing.

Acceptance into the School is a two-fold process. You must apply for acceptance into the University, as well as audition for your program of interest.

Auditions can be done before, after, or concurrently with the application to the University. An application does not necessarily need to be submitted before auditioning, except in the case of Early Admission, but it is highly encouraged.
