- Students must have a masters degree in a related field of study prior to starting their doctoral studies, in order to apply for the PhD program.
- Prospective students who have not earned a master’s degree before the start of their UW PhD program may only apply to the MS program, and may be permitted to continue on to earn a Ph.D. with faculty approval.
