Overview
Our rigorous Medicine curriculum at the New York University prepares you for a career as a physician–scientist. It is designed to develop your skills in breaking down complex phenomena into testable hypotheses as a scientist and responding to clinical phenomena as a physician.

- All candidates, especially those nearing the end of their training, receive career and residency guidance. Opens in a new tab, which is accessible by logging into the MD/PhD program intranet community using your Kerberos ID.
- Each spring, NYU Grossman School of Medicine hosts a Match Day, when MD/PhD candidates find out their medical residency matches along with MD candidates.

- MD/PhD candidates at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences follow academic pathways that integrate preclinical coursework, clinical clerkships, and graduate training in the biomedical sciences.

General requirements
- To apply, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing, with a strong background in biological, chemical, physical, or mathematical sciences.
- We have no minimum GPA requirement and welcome all academic majors. We look for a proven track record in science and previous research experience, which should be showcased in your personal statement and letters of recommendation. We do not accept Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores.
