This Languages and Cultures PhD programme from University of Essex was meticulously designed to meet the increase demand for interdisciplinary studies and to delve into the relationship between languages and cultures.

As a PhD candidate in Languages and Cultures, you will be guided in choosing an appropriate research paradigm, be it quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods, for your empirical research. We also offer collaboration opportunities with research centres within the University.

You will need a good Masters degree or equivalent, in a related subject. A well-developed research proposal is also essential
You may be required to attend an interview/Skype interview for acceptance, and acceptance is subject to research expertise in the department.
