About the program
The mission of the Tufts University Medical Science Training Program is to foster the development of diverse and talented trainees into resilient, adaptable, and innovative physician-scientist leaders who will drive solutions to existing, emergent and future critical health care challenges over the course of their careers.
Our trainees learn to conduct and lead rigorous and reproducible research and develop competencies that promote the resilience needed to identify, adapt, and sustain efforts to meet evolving healthcare needs in our society, using the best evidence-based teaching practices.

- AMCAS Application & Tufts School of Medicine Secondary Application
- The selection of applicants for admission into the MD Program is based not only on performance in the required premedical courses, but also on the applicant’s entire academic record and extracurricular experiences.
- Letters of recommendation and information supplied by the applicant are reviewed for indications of promise and suitability for a medical career.
- Preference is given to applicants who will earn a bachelor’s degree from an accredited US college or university before medical school.
