General requirements
- Students with an engineering degree in another field may be admitted directly to the program, provided they satisfy all other admissions criteria.
- GRE required. A minimum combined score of 300 on the verbal and quantitative sections is required. An official score report is required, sent directly from the testing center to UNM.
- The letter of intent should summarize your qualifications and professional goals, and indicate the area of civil engineering which you want to pursue. Please try to limit to 2 pages.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) is required over the last two undergraduate years in science, math, and engineering courses. Enter in this section all science, math, and engineering courses taken over last two undergraduate years with course grades.
