Overview
Goals
The overall goal of the curriculum is to produce a highly competent generalist practitioner at the doctoral level. This would encompass the following guiding principles enveloping our mission, philosophy and goals, and expressed as outcomes of the Doctor of Physical Therapy educational experience at at the University of Miami:
- Globally educated generalist physical therapist incorporating the patient/client management model
- Competent in the interpretation and implementation of research leading to evidence-based practice
- Capable of providing high quality care to all who need it
- To be participants and leaders in community service activities

General requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- The GRE exam is optional for admissions. GRE scores that are submitted will be considered but will not be a requirement for admission
- All prerequisite coursework, including Bachelor’s Degree, must be finished by the time classes start in May
