- Broadly interdisciplinary approach: We offer a strong, well-balanced foundation in the fundamentals of AI and many opportunities for advanced research and training in many disciplines, including computer science, biomedical informatics, cognitive psychology, information science, education, law, and more.
- Focused, customized curricula: Building on the core Intelligent Systems curriculum, you design your own personalized curricula that prepares you for interdisciplinary research in your areas of interest.

General requirements
- A concise statement of purpose
- Recommendations provided by three persons familiar with your accomplishments. At least one should be familiar with the field of intelligent systems.
- Official transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate study.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) will no longer be required for admission. Applicants may still submit GRE scores, and they will be used in the review process if they are submitted.
- For applicants who are not native speakers of English, TOEFL scores are required.
