Professional Opportunities
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering features a variety of laboratories equipped with sophisticated equipment to meet the needs of students in their preparation for scholarship beyond their degrees. The department has laboratories with hands- on equipment in robotics, power systems, computer-driven instrumentation, and telecommunication. Also, there is a vehicle autonomy and intelligence lab (VAIL) for UAV research and an electro- optics laboratory for designing optical sensors and optical wireless systems. An RFID and wireless technology laboratory provides opportunities for students to design and study wireless systems. We are one of 44 programs worldwide that are level I certified by Keysight Technologies for training RF ready engineers.

- Specialize in solutions and techniques from the discipline’s foundational areas by successfully completing comprehensive exams in 4 of the following areas: Algorithms, Databases, Programming languages, Artificial Intelligence, Scientific Computing, Graphics, Systems, Software Engineering, and Information Assurance/computer security.
