About the program
It is the policy of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to involve each faculty member in a balanced combination of research and teaching so as to fully benefit the students.
A large number of our faculty has considerable industrial experience, and many maintain active consulting roles to provide current and relevant knowledge to the students in classroom and research settings. This Computer Engineering PhD is offered at Florida International University.

Records and documents:
- A completed online application for Graduate Admission with appropriate fees;
- Official transcripts of all higher education institutions attended;
- Three letters of reference attesting to the applicant's ability to succeed in doctoral study;
- A current resume/vitae;
- A statement that sets forth the applicant's research interests and career goals and relates these goals to the completion of the PhD Program in Higher Education;
- A writing sample illustrating research skills (such as a thesis, journal article, paper submitted for academic credit; etc.). We recommend a writing sample of at least ten pages.
- An interview with the Doctoral Admissions Committee.
