- The primary goal of this Medicine program at The University of Toledo is to educate and train graduate students who have completed all prerequisites required for medical school but wish to enhance their understanding of the biological sciences and potentially improve their academic credentials for applying to medical school.
Programme Structure
Curriculum:
- The Academic Enrichment Center provides assistance and resources for students to enhance their academic performance, and to facilitate access for qualified disabled students.
- We offer offers more than 60 different student organizations and activities. We have everything from the American Medical Association to Students for Medical Missions and the Scribe Program.
- Our students begin practicing interviewing skills in their first year at the center, culminating in developing, supporting and defending a diagnosis.
- By the third year, our students participate in rotation-based Objective Structured Clinical Evaluations, which are designed to model the Step 2 CS USMLE board certification taken after the completion of the third year clerkships.

General requirements
- Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or have permanent resident status (permanent residency "green" card). If applying as a permanent resident, an applicant must be a permanent resident at the time of application and will be required to submit a photocopy of the front and back of their permanent resident card.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. college or university.
- MCAT scores taken within five years from the anticipated matriculation year. Exceptions may be made for students accepted through one of our early assurance programs.
- A UToledo secondary application.
- At least 3 letters of recommendation.
- Submission of final official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools you have attended with degrees posted (if applicable).
- Successful completion and review of a criminal records check.
