Overview

The Nursing Practice programme from Miami Regional University prepares master’s level nurses for the most advanced nursing practice level. Students remain active members of the workforce, applying the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to their practice environments.

The programme employs a delivery method that provides opportunities for synchronous and asynchronous learning. It provides learning experiences for the advanced practice nurse to acquire organizational, financial, and leadership knowledge.

Students will be able to identify problems and use evidence-based research to develop proposals for implementing and evaluating practice changes in a clinical setting. Changes will aim to improve patient outcomes and safety, positively impacting healthcare and academic communities.

General requirements

Complete the programme application process including the entrance essay and submission of all documents required from the application document.

Hold a Master of Science in Nursing degree from an accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education or a foreign master’s degree evaluated by an approved agency indicting equivalency to a Master of Science Degree in Nursing earned at an accredited institution in the U.S. (Official college transcript or evaluation must be received before the end of the first term) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Demonstrate the ability to meet Externship Requirements.

Have an active Registered Nursing license for the state of Florida or participating Compact state.

Interview with the Associate Dean or designee and submit signed Acknowledgment of the Programme Work Expectations Form.

Provide three letters of recommendation from healthcare professionals.
