Overview
The Biomedical Informatics program from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences main objective is to develop the ability to pose compelling scientific questions and propose new methods in Biomedical Informatics. Doctoral program objectives also include those at the master’s and graduate certificate programs.
Key Facts
The PhD program is open to those who already hold a four-year undergraduate degree. Students with no previous graduate credit will be required to complete additional hours beyond the 55-credit hour minimum that are required for the degree to fulfill the 72 graduate semester credit hour requirement of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

- Written statement. The candidate’s written statement of interest must convincingly demonstrate alignment of the candidate’s career goals with the goals of the program. The most competitive candidates will have evidence of prior pursuit of projects, courses, work, or internship experience in Biomedicine or Biomedical Informatics.
