Overview
Education
- The program encompasses advanced course work, the writing of independent research papers at the seminar level, the successful completion of written candidacy examinations, an oral examination followed by admission to candidacy for the degree, original research, and ultimately the submission and defense of a dissertation that is a contribution to scholarly knowledge. The Near Eastern Languages and Cultures programme is offered by The Ohio State University.

- Completion of a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution [at time of enrollment]
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent [at time of enrollment; can be appealed under special circumstances]
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are optional for the Autumn 2024 admission cycle. Applicants who wish to submit GRE scores must request that official scores be submitted to OSU.
