The School of Electrical Engineering ties electrical engineering, natural sciences and information technology together.
Graduates are multi-skilled individuals who are capable of utilizing nanotechnology, electronics, signal processing and internet technologies in solving grand challenges of mankind, for instance climate change, ageing of population and sustainable development. One of the school's special strengths is linking research with the Finnish and international business sector.

The School of Electrical Engineering includes eight departments as well as the Metsähovi Radio Observatory and the Micronova Centre for Micro and Nanotechnology, established in cooperation with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.

Otaniemi CampusThe Aalto University School of Science is based in Otaniemi in Espoo, 10 km from the center of Helsinki, on a campus designed by Alvar Aalto. Otaniemi has the highest concentration of high technology in the Nordic countries. A unique combination of education, study and business is densely packed into this small area.Otaniemi has twice been chosen as one of the most innovative areas in Europe, and it has also been awarded the EU Award of Excellence.
