The mission of the PhD program in Chemical Engineering at University of Houston is to train graduate students and contribute to the development of fundamental knowledge in the field of chemical engineering. 


We offer a phd degree in Chemical Engineering at University of Houston. The department’s diverse research is at the forefront of traditional and emerging chemical engineering disciplines including biomolecular engineering, nano-materials, environmental reaction engineering, energy, control theory, polymers, transport, catalysis, separation processes and plasma processing science and applications.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

  • 3 Letters of Recommendation (emails must be listed on the online application)
