Overview
Agronomy is the application of plant and soil science to crop production. Agronomy emphasizes staple food crops, such as corn, rice, beans, and wheat, which are produced on a large scale and represent the foundation of our human food supply.
About the program
The Department offers graduate programs leading to a Master's or Doctoral Degree in Agronomy and Horticulture with the following areas of specialization: Plant Breeding and Genetics; Crop Physiology and Production; Soil and Water Science; Range, Forage and Turfgrass Sciences; and Weed Science.
Our degree programs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are highly integrated with other departments to provide the best preparation for a fulfilling and exciting career.
