About the program
Our Biomedical Engineering program at Florida International University offers a variety of options for students looking to design and prototype products, devices, processes, or software system solutions designed to address unmet biomedical needs.
The Biomedical Engineering Department aims to innovate and excel in education and research to translate knowledge and technologies that advance clinical medicine and promote biomedical industry growth.
The Ph.D. program in Biomedical Engineering prepares graduates for industrial or academic research in one (or more) of three areas of specialization:
- Basic research in engineered tissue model systems;
- Diagnostic bioimaging and sensor systems; and
- Therapeutic and reparative neurotechnology
