Overview
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists provide anesthetics for surgical, obstetrical and trauma care for operations and procedures that range from brain surgery to child birth. CRNAs practice with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, and these advance-practice nurses are compensated accordingly.
Careers
The Nurse Anesthesia program at the University of Cincinnati prepares graduates to sit for the licensure exam to become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Our graduates have a 100% licensure exam pass rate and 100% job placement rate after graduation.

- Current, unrestricted RN license and one year of full-time critical care experience in either an adult or pediatric intensive care unit
- Current American Association of Critical-Care Nurses CCRN Certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS Provider Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited institution
- GRE General Test (required for nurses without a master’s)
