The PhD program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BCMB) at Clark University is offered jointly by the Biology and Chemistry Departments. The BCMB Program offers research opportunities in a wide variety of areas, including: molecular modeling, protein chemistry, photosynthesis and metabolism, cell division, enzymology, signal transduction, molecular evolution, gene expression, and heavy metal metabolism.

The Graduate School requires a minimum of 16 semester courses in residence for the Ph.D. Courses must be completed with a grade of B or better to earn graduate credit. The time necessary for completion of the degrees will depend on the student's research and is usually in excess of this minimum. Part-time graduate work is discouraged as it is impractical for a research degree. Stipends are not available for part-time students

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

Residency
