Housing services
Karlstad University has a collaboration with a dwelling company called KBAB.
This company can provide living quarters near the university to our foreign students.
Library services
Library has access to approximately 315 000 e-books via various e-book portals. E-books can be read online and often they also can be downloaded to computer or tablet. Different e-book vendors may have different terms of use.There are approximately 30 study rooms and 20 study cells for individual studies in the Library. Most of them have to be reserved, but there are also some drop-in rooms.
Medical services
The Swedish authorities require you to provide evidence of insurance when applying for a residence permit..
If you are a European student you must bring your European Health Insurance Card.You are then entitled to use the public medical services on the same conditions as Swedish citizens for emergency medical care.
Campus life
Karlstad University is situated in an area just outside the city centre. It can easily be reached by bicycle, bus, train or car.
Student clubs
The Graduate Student Association is a part of Karlstad University's student body. We represent all doctoral students.
The association is dedicated to providing quality service and support to all 300+ doctoral students. We safeguard your rights by representing the interests of doctoral students in relation to the university - either directly or by appointing representatives of doctoral students in the university's central committees and a number of other committees.
We sponsor and organize lectures on doctoral related subjects, as well as seminars and workshops that focus on the interests of postgraduate students.
The Business School at Karlstad University has now achieved AACSB accreditation. The work with AACSB accreditation is based on the Business School's mission: "We educate responsible professionals and conduct research with high societal impact"
