History
Nazarbayev University was announced in 2006 by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and founded in 2010 as the country’s flagship institution for academics and researchers to collaborate.
Education
The academic and research programs of Nazarbayev University are designed in partnership with the leading universities ranked among the top 30 higher education institutions in the world.
We strive for leadership on the global scientific and educational markets. The international faculty applies the best global practices and distributes its professional experience in the academic environment of Kazakhstan.
Research
NU is committed to achieving excellence in research, and to ensuring that its research contributes to the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan and the region. NU research covers both fundamental and applied predominantly STEM disciplines, life sciences, social sciences, and education, reflecting Kazakhstan’s priority development areas.
Career
CAC strives to provide services to aid in the professional development of our students and alumni.
Our future is the youth of this country! Career choice starts from family taken up by University and final product is dealt by an Employer. Therefore, it is important that our joint efforts and support are consistent and cooperative.
The Career and Advising Center promotes lifelong skills through our Career workshops and Professional Development Programs. The Center establishes partnerships with internship providers and employers to help in recruiting NU students and alumni through on-campus recruitment events, companies’ presentations and field trips, etc.

Housing services
We are delighted to introduce them with an environment where we encourage the students to self-realize and be more active in the student life activities.Living in the dormitories of NU and taking advantage of its academic, sport and other facilities will inspire the students’ future commitments to the University and the surrounding environment. All rooms have beds, desks and closet space. Room dimensions vary according to the block. The space is limited and bringing the extra furniture is strongly prohibited.
Medical services
NU has established NU Medicine, a vibrant academic healthcare system based on international standards and developed in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM) and its Medical Center (UPMC). NU Medicine consists of the School of Medicine (SOM), University Medical Center (UMC), Center for Life Sciences (CLS), and other NU schools.
