Overview
Our PhD students are expected to conduct research and to advance the science of counseling psychology through scholarly inquiry. You’ll learn how to apply your scientific knowledge using qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Outcomes

General requirements
- Optional: Submission of scores on the General Test portion of the Graduate Record Examination; test taken within last five years. GRE scores are not required for any program in educational psychology but may be submitted as supplemental material.
- A letter outlining the applicant’s academic and professional background, declaration of Area of Concentration as well as specific research interests and goals for the PhD program.
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the applicant’s intellectual achievement and potential.
- At least one sample of academic writing. You may add additional materials that highlight your professional and/or academic skills.
- A resume or curriculum vitae.
