Overview
We provide concurrent, integrative training in clinical science and clinical service delivery so that our Clinical Psychology graduates at Florida State University are prepared not only to apply current knowledge, theories, and techniques, but they are able and motivated to remain at the cutting-edge of the field.
The three main training objectives are to produce clinical scientists with foundational knowledge of the science of psychology and the practice of psychology; to produce clinical scientists who are capable of contributing to the body of scientific knowledge; to produce clinical scientists who take an investigative approach to the understanding of psychopathology and the practice of clinical assessment and intervention.

General requirements
- Matching student and faculty research interests plays a major role in the admissions process; applicants should list faculty whose research best fits their own interests.
- Minimum GPA: 3.3; average GPA: 3.7
- Minimum GRE percentiles: Verbal – 60th, Quantitative – 60th; average GRE percentiles: Verbal – 84th; Quantitative – 70th
- Psychology subject GRE not required
- Most students have 1-2 years empirical research experience before entering the program.
- 3 strong letters of recommendation
- Statement of purpose describing areas of academic interest, experience, and career goals (≤ 2-3 double spaced pages)
- Most current transcript available; official copy of final transcript required upon admission to the program
