As part of the Youth Education Program, EDC provides up to 20 scholarships a year to international business post-secondary students at Canadian universities and colleges, and 7 scholarships to post-secondary students representing the next generation of community champions from a diversity of backgrounds.

Description

EDC 2SLGBTQ+ Community Leader Scholarship is available to 2SLGBTQ+ students pursuing studies at a Canadian college, university, or cégep.

The value of the scholarship is $5,000.

Eligibility

  • Be able to provide your SIN (Social Insurance Number) for tax purposes.
  • Identify as two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, + (2SLGBTQ+).

Be pursuing post-secondary studies at a Canadian college, university, or cégep in a field related to EDC’s work, including one of the following:

  • Business and finance (international business, economics, sustainability, statistics, finance, investments, mathematics).
  • Operations and administration (operations, commerce, human resources, accounting, communications, project management, information management, data analytics, digital design, graphic design, legal).
  • Information technology (computer science, software engineering/development, network engineering, business analysis, data analytics, cybersecurity).
  • A field related to the support of those who identify as 2SLGBTQ+.

Have strong academic standing (minimum 70% cumulative average).

  • Demonstrate commitment to the advancement of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Assets:

  • Schooling or work experience outside of Canada.
  • Demonstration of dedicated leadership, volunteering, and/or extra-curriculars.
